Dementia Resources for Eating, Activity, and Meaningful Inclusion

About Us

The goal of the Dementia Resources for Eating, Activity, and Meaningful Inclusion (DREAM) project is to support the design, content, and delivery of physical activity, healthy eating, and other wellness programs so that they meet the needs and preferences of persons living with dementia and their families. This project is for Canadians, by Canadians.

For People Living with Dementia and Their Families

These tools and resources will help people living with dementia and their families to learn more about inclusion, physical activity, and healthy eating, and increase confidence to manage wellbeing.

For Service Providers

Learning modules, tools, and resources for service providers to increase knowledge and support people living with dementia in physical activity and healthy eating.

Project Overview

The Dementia Resource for Eating, Activity, and Meaningful Inclusion (DREAM) team was assembled in 2020, and expanded to our current team in 2021. We have developed evidence-based, Canadian resources to improve the number, quality, and variety of physical activity, healthy eating, and wellness opportunities available to people living with dementia. These include learning modules that prepare service providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage with, accommodate the needs of, and include people living with dementia in community programs and services.

Vision

To improve the number, quality, and variety of physical activity, healthy eating, and wellness opportunities available to people living with dementia. Physical activity and healthy eating can improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of people living with dementia.

Goal

To support the design, content, and delivery of physical activity, healthy eating, and other wellness programs so that they meet the needs and preferences of persons living with dementia and their families.
